Adding an Access Key to the Happ App
Happ can't reach a single server until a key is added — the process itself only takes a couple of taps once you know where the right screen lives.
Key vs. Subscription Link
An access key is a string of connection parameters linking the app to your account and its servers. A subscription link does the same job but can refresh the server list on its own, without you doing anything manually.
- Both are issued exclusively by the service Telegram bot
- There's no way to generate a key from inside the Happ app itself
- The same key typically works across several devices at once
For the full process of getting one, see Happ Telegram bot.
Finding the Add-Key Screen
Happ prompts you to paste a key the very first time it launches. If the app is already configured, you can add another key from the main screen.
- Look for a "+" icon or an add-subscription option in the interface
- Depending on the version, the screen may read "Add configuration" or "Add subscription"
- Its location is consistent across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iPhone, and Smart TV
Adding the Key Step by Step
The sequence is identical no matter which platform you're on.
- Copy the key text or link from the bot's message in Telegram
- Open the add screen inside Happ
- Paste the copied text into the input field
- Confirm — the app will pull the list of available servers
Haven't installed the app yet? Start with the Happ download page.
Confirming the Key Actually Worked
Before trying to connect, it's worth double-checking the result.
- At least one entry should appear in the server list
- How many servers show up depends on your plan
- Connecting to any server and seeing a "connected" status confirms the key is working
Key Won't Add? Check These
Sometimes the first attempt doesn't take — usually it's the key text itself or its expiration.
- Make sure the entire key was copied, with no trimming or stray spaces
- Confirm it hasn't expired — current terms are on the Happ pricing page
- If the error keeps happening, request a fresh key from the Telegram bot
For a fuller list of causes, see Happ not connecting.
